The area enjoys the typical wine region weather, lots of warmth and no humidity but the area is less than an hour away from skiing resorts and the northern cities or Bilbao, Santander, Pamplona and San Sebastian are all easily reached in just over an hour.

The area is very welcoming of visitors and the locals have a friendly disposition in life – no doubt connected to the availability of so much wine! The region is also virtually crime free and residents enjoy high living standards with low living costs, great produce, good quality restaurants and schooling and an unspoilt environment.

As well as the coast of northern Spain being within easy reach, the motoway network gives access to the pyrenees mountains and the French border in less than an hour and a half.
