Isolated and accessible only by dirt roads, the Atlantic beach of Telheiro is of unique beauty, enhanced by the geological polychromy of warm tones. Going down an irregular footpath and after some difficulties, Praia do Telheiro appears to us with a little extensive sand, integrating with the west side of the Ponta do Telheiro geomonument, which imposes itself as a scenic geological border between the blacks. shales and greywackes to the north and limestone whites to the south. The origin of its name is due to the local extraction of clay for the production of tiles. It is part of the Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina Natural Park. - Câmara Municipal de Vila do Bispo
